terms.
Short version: every tee is drawn by me and printed when you order it. Delivery in the UK is free. You’ve got 14 days to change your mind, and if anything’s wrong with your tee I’ll put it right. The full terms are below. Please read them before you order, because they’re what you agree to when you buy.
1. About these terms
These terms apply to every order placed on this website. They’re written for customers buying as individuals (consumers), not as businesses. By placing an order you confirm you’ve read and accepted them. If you’re under 18, please check with a parent or guardian before ordering.
I may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your order is the one shown here when you placed it.
2. The products
- Made to order. Every design is hand-drawn by me and printed onto a blank tee only after you order it. This is how I avoid waste and overstock.
- How they’re printed. Designs are printed using direct-to-garment (DTG) printing, which puts the ink into the fabric. Small differences in print position (up to about 1"/2.5cm) and ink tone between tees are normal and don’t count as a fault.
- Photos. Product images are close representations. Colours on screen depend on your device and can look slightly different from the real tee.
- Sizing. Measurements are listed on each product page. Tees are a relaxed, boxy fit, and measurements can vary by up to 2"/5cm. Please check the size guide before ordering.
- Limited designs. Route designs are available for a limited time. Once a route ends, those designs may not come back.
3. Prices and payment
- All prices are in pounds sterling (GBP). I’m not VAT registered, so no VAT is added.
- UK delivery is free. The price you see at checkout is the total you pay.
- Payment is taken securely by Square at checkout. I never see or store your full card details.
- If a price on the site is obviously wrong (for example, a £35 tee listed at £3.50), I’ll contact you before your order is made and give you the choice of paying the correct price or cancelling for a full refund.
4. Placing an order
- How it works: choose your design, colour and size, then go to checkout and pay. Before you pay you can review your order and correct any mistakes, like the wrong size or address.
- Orders and these terms are in English. I don’t keep a separate copy of your contract for you, so save or print these terms if you’d like a copy. Your confirmation email lists what you ordered.
- You’ll get an email confirming your order. Our contract starts when that confirmation is sent.
- If I can’t fulfil your order, for example because a colour or size has become unavailable, I’ll tell you as soon as possible and refund you in full.
- Changing or cancelling before it’s made: because tees go into production quickly, email me as soon as possible if you need to change your size, colour or address. I’ll do my best, but once your tee is in production I can’t change it. You can still return it under section 6.
5. Delivery
- I currently deliver to UK addresses only.
- Your tee is printed after you order and then posted. Most orders arrive within 5–9 working days. This is an estimate, not a guarantee. If your order hasn’t arrived within 30 days, it counts as late and you can cancel for a full refund.
- You’ll get tracking by email once your order ships.
- Wrong address: if a parcel can’t be delivered because the address you gave was incorrect or incomplete, I’ll do my best to help. You may need to pay for it to be sent again.
- Lost or damaged in the post: if tracking shows your parcel hasn’t arrived or it turns up damaged, email me and I’ll send a replacement or refund you.
- The tee becomes yours, and your responsibility, once it’s delivered to the address you gave.
6. Changing your mind
You can cancel your order for any reason, any time from placing it until 14 days after the day you receive it. To cancel, email [email protected] with your order number, or use the cancellation form on the shipping & returns page.
- Post the tee back within 14 days of telling me. I’ll reply with the returns address. You pay for return postage, so use a tracked service.
- I’ll refund the full price of the tee within 14 days of getting it back (or of you sending proof of postage, whichever is sooner), to the card you paid with.
- You can try the tee on the way you would in a shop. If it comes back worn, washed, marked or damaged, I may reduce your refund to cover the loss in value.
- Because every tee is made to order, I can’t swap sizes directly. Return it and place a new order.
7. If something’s wrong with your tee
By law, your tee must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. If it isn’t (for example, it’s misprinted, faulty, damaged or I sent the wrong item or size), email me a photo with your order number.
- Within 30 days of delivery you can choose a full refund.
- After 30 days I’ll replace it. If a replacement isn’t possible or doesn’t fix the problem, you can have a refund or a price reduction.
- I’ll cover the cost of sending back any faulty item.
- Normal wear and tear, or damage caused by not following the care instructions, isn’t a fault.
This is a summary of your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Nothing in these terms affects them. For more information, visit Citizens Advice.
8. Looking after your tee
Wash cold and inside out with similar colours. Don’t tumble dry, and don’t iron directly on the print. Following this keeps the print and fabric looking right for longer. Care details are on each product page.
9. Discount codes and offers
Unless an offer says otherwise: one code per order, codes can’t be exchanged for cash or used on orders already placed, and offers may end at any time. If you return an order bought with a discount, you’ll be refunded what you actually paid.
10. My designs
The passerby character, the wordmark and every design on this site are my original work and belong to me. Buying a tee gives you the tee, not the right to copy, reproduce or sell the designs, or to use them for any commercial purpose. Sharing photos of yourself wearing passerby is always welcome. Tag me and I might ask to repost it.
11. My responsibility to you
- I’m responsible for loss or damage you suffer that’s a foreseeable result of me breaking these terms or not using reasonable care and skill. Loss or damage is foreseeable if it’s obvious it will happen, or if we both knew it might happen when the contract was made.
- I’m not responsible for loss or damage that wasn’t foreseeable, or for any business losses. My products are for personal use only.
- Nothing in these terms limits my liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
12. Things outside my control
I’m not responsible for delays caused by events outside my reasonable control, such as postal strikes, severe weather or problems at my printing partner. If that happens, I’ll let you know and do what I can to reduce the delay. If it goes on for a long time, you can cancel and get a full refund for anything you haven’t received.
13. Complaints
If you’re unhappy with anything, email [email protected]. I’ll reply within 3 working days and do my best to sort it out quickly and fairly. If we can’t agree, I’ll tell you about an approved alternative dispute resolution (ADR) provider and whether I’ll use it. You can also get free advice from Citizens Advice.
14. Your personal information
I only use your details to process and deliver your order, and to email you about new drops if you’ve signed up. See the privacy page for the details.
15. Other important terms
- This contract is between you and me. Nobody else has any rights to enforce it.
- If a court decides part of these terms isn’t valid, the rest still applies.
- If I don’t enforce one of these terms straight away, I can still enforce it later.
- I may transfer my rights under these terms to someone else, for example if the business is sold. If that happens, your rights won’t be affected.
16. The law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland, you can bring proceedings in Scotland as well. If you live in Northern Ireland, you can bring them in Northern Ireland as well.
